Sustainability at Troax

Safety is what we build – Sustainability is how we build it

Same standards, applied everywhere. We build safety systems that last for decades. Systems that protect people today and leave less behind tomorrow. For Troax, this is not a sustainability strategy. It is how we work.

Leading by example

Thousands of facilities worldwide trust Troax to guard their people, property and processes. That trust comes with responsibility to our environment, our people and our partners.

Environmental responsibility

We work to reduce the environmental impact of our operations and products by focusing on:

  • Reducing climate impact across our value chain
  • Improving energy efficiency and increasing the use of renewable energy in our operations
  • Increasing resource efficiency through durable design, recyclability and reduced material waste
  • This work is recognised externally: our production units are certified to ISO 14001, we are a signatory to the UN Global Compact, and selected Troax facilities hold an EcoVadis Gold or Silver rating, one of the scheme’s highest tiers for sustainability performance.

Social responsibility

Zero harm starts with our own people:

  • Protecting the safety, health and wellbeing of our employees
  • Requiring fair working conditions and respect for human rights in our own operations and throughout our supply chain
  • Actively ensuring safe working environments for customers, contractors and end users
  • Our solutions are designed to prevent harm. We apply the same principle to our work with our people and partners.

Governance

We hold ourselves accountable through independent frameworks and verified processes. Governance is not a compliance exercise for us. It is how we maintain the trust that more than 15,000 customers place in us every day. That trust is built through consistent, responsible behaviour — from certified management systems and transparent reporting to clear ethical standards and responsible sourcing.

  • ISO 9001 certified for quality management across our operations

  • Reporting in line with European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS)

  • Code of Conduct and Supplier Code of Conduct setting clear expectations for how we and our partners operate

  • Setting clear, high standards for ethics, compliance and anti-corruption – not just meeting requirements

  • Responsible sourcing built on clear supplier requirements and risk-based due diligence

  • We expect our partners to meet the same standards we set for ourselves – and we follow up

  • Improve resource efficiency through durable design and circular thinking across the product lifecycle

  • Strengthen supplier due diligence and transparency across our value chain

  • Maintain strong governance, social and ethical standards and anti-corruption practices

Reporting and scope

Our reporting covers environmental, social and governance topics across our own operations and value chain, based on a double materiality assessment.

We report in line with European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and relevant EU regulation. Greenhouse gas emissions are calculated according to the GHG Protocol.

Climate and environment

Steel is our main input material and a key driver of climate impact. That is why recycled content, durability and circular design are central to our environmental work. Responsible sourcing, recycled content, durable design and circular thinking are how we address that impact directly.

Yes, we are currently at 33% renewable energy across all sites, operations, and offices (2025).

Products and customers

Our safety systems are designed to last, perform reliably and reduce operational disruption. Long service life, modular design and high material quality support both safety and resource efficiency.

Our products are primarily made of steel, which is fully recyclable. They are designed to be modular and reusable, supporting flexibility and extended use across applications. Durability, repairability, and long service life are key parts of our design approach.

Supply chain and ethics

Respect for human rights and fair working conditions is a core requirement for our suppliers, in line with international standards.

We take a riskbased approach to supplier assessment and continuously strengthen our followup processes.

Governance and integrity

Sustainability responsibilities are integrated into our governance structure, with oversight at senior management and board level.

We have clear policies covering ethics, anticorruption and business conduct, supported by reporting channels and followup processes.

Future

Our priorities are based on where our impact is greatest, informed by a double materiality assessment and integrated into business decisionmaking.

The same way safety has: by being designed into how we operate, not added around it. We call this Re:Guarding – innovating today for a more sustainable industry tomorrow. Safer workplaces, resilient supply chains and products built to last are not sustainability outcomes for us. They are business outcomes.
