Industrial safety for automation and robotics

Ready for the next generation of automation

Where people and machines meet, at every robot cell, conveyor and AMR crossing, Troax builds protection matched to the risk and ready for inspection before go-live.

Wherever robots and people meet

Good guarding doesn’t just protect; it keeps projects moving. Here’s how we do it.
  • Machine Guarding
  • Barriers

Why the industry leaders choose Troax

Safety is more than just protection. It is the foundation of performance. The Troax difference:

  • The industry's broadest safety portfolio, standard or tailored.

  • Durable and modular systems that are easy to specify, maintain and adapt.

  • Expert support that stays with you for the life of your operation.

  • The trust of leading operators like Ocado, Dematic, Vanderlande, Swisslog and TGW.

  • The trust of leading operators in automation and robotics, like ABB and SpaceX.

  • 70+ years of expertise, 40+ countries and regional manufacturing that shortens lead times.

From a single robot cell to a full AMR fleet

  • Standard and high-payload robot cells

Guard every robot cell, conveyor and application at the right energy level, from 2,100 to 12,000 joules of impact resistance and up to 2,700 mm, the maximum height ISO 13857 requires.

  • Welding cells

Contain welding spatter and shield surrounding areas from hazardous arc radiation while guarding the robot's full reach. Solid steel at exposure points, mesh where ventilation and visibility are needed.

  • Collaborative robots and cobots

Cobots can work alongside people without fixed guarding, relying on safety-rated speed and force limits in line with ISO/TS 15066 and ISO 10218-2:2025. Go faster or heavier, and you need a guarded cell. We show you where.

  • AMR and AGV integration

Keep people and automated vehicles apart with modular barriers that define automated zones and reconfigure as the fleet grows, without slowing navigation or throughput.

  • Conveyor and automated material handling

Guard every transfer point and automated-to-manual crossing in one modular installation, designed to EN ISO 14120:2015 and EN 619:2022.

The solutions advanced automation is built on

Support that keeps pace with your operation

Automation rarely stands still: new cells go in, robots change, fleets grow. Our experts stay close as yours evolves, bringing deep knowledge of the standards and local teams in over 40 countries who know your market.

Got questions? These come up the most

Smart Fix suits most standard robot cells, a robust, tool-operated fixing system for reliable, compliant guard retention. Rapid Fix is designed for cells with frequent maintenance access, captive fixings that stay attached to the panel when removed, speeding up the process while keeping the tool-operated requirement EN ISO 14120:2015 demands. Strong Fix is for high-energy, high-payload environments. All three comply with the Machinery Regulation (EU), maintain EN ISO 13857:2019 safety distances and work together within the same installation.

Our Safe Lock range is compatible with safety switches from GuardMaster, Telemecanique, Schmersal, Pilz, Euchner and more, connecting the door interlock directly to the robot’s safety-rated control architecture as required by ISO 10218-2:2025. Guard locking at PLd or PLe is available where the risk assessment requires it.

Yes. Our physical barriers and detection technologies are designed for mixed-traffic and fully automated environments. Personnel warning systems such as PAS, CAS-G2 detection and AI-powered camera solutions help manage the interfaces between people and automated activity where physical separation alone is insufficient.

Yes. All our systems are fully modular. Panels, posts, fixing systems and access points can be reconfigured, extended or relocated as cell layouts change, new robots are introduced, or automation expands, without replacing existing infrastructure.

We provide declarations of conformity, test reports and product specifications for every system we deliver. For integrators, this documentation is designed to slot directly into the technical file and support the CE marking declaration for the complete system.

Our machine guarding has evolved with the standards since the Machinery Directive first made guarding a legal requirement in 1990, and our systems are already built for the Machinery Regulation, which replaces the Directive from 20 January 2027. We provide a Declaration of Conformity for every system, and our ST&L team can support risk assessment and CE marking for the complete installation.
